Lightning Bolt is the tenth studio album by the American rock bank Pearl Jam. Produced by long-time Pearl Jam collaborator Brendan O'Brien, the album was released in the United States on October 15, 2013, through the band's own Monkeywrench Records, with Republic Records handling the internation release.

This album was chosen for this project because of it's simplistic use of shape and simple red and black colour palette. The four colours: black, white and a dark and light shade of red provides a nice selection of options for combinations of background and text colour. The simple circles found on the album cover allowed for a home page based around the circle as a shape, with the album tracks indented as though they are placed in line with the circle.

The song chosen from this album is the song Pendulum. This is a relatively slow song with an almost dark atmosphere to it. This is complimented by the dark background and dark red text used in the first portion of the video.

This song contains many words and phrases implying various movement allowing for this meaning to be shown though the movement of the text. Words such as high, low, bright, pass and grow provide the opportunity to show the meaning of the words through movement, with more interesting words like pendulum being swung from an anchor point as well as more literal meaning such as the shadow of the text fading as suggested by the lyrics themselves.

This song is made up of so many words and ideas that can be shown through kinetic typography and I thoroughly enjoyed putting this project together.
